After many weeks of hard work, 3G presented their assembly to the entire elementary school. The assembly showcased their studies about the brain and how humans learn.
One of best parts of the assembly was 3G’s original song lyrics for “Protect Your Brain,” an earworm to teach others how to take care of this vital organ and understand how we learn.
Look who filled the marble jar today!! 3G earns marbles for making strong choices and for going above and beyond. Today, they filled the whole jar earning a celebration of their choice… a stuffed animal party at school!
Fun Day is always an experience to look forward to and remember fondly. This past Fun Day was no exception. Students across the school broke up into their color houses – red, yellow, blue, and green – for the first time this year.
I was on the Blue Team!
The games in the gym were a highlight of the day!
With Miss de-Bourne’s help, all the students worked together on a collaborative art project that will go on display at school. This was messy and fun!
3G is an artistic bunch! We continued our watercolor unit by studying some art history. Students attempted to paint in the style of Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Chinese, 1700’s Europeans, or modern Caribbean artists.
Learning to round to the nearest tens and hundreds is a little bit tricky and little bit dry. Adding a dice game certainly improves enthusiasm!
IPC Brain Research
Students were highly focused when researching how to keep brains healthy. It can be a lot of fun to dive into expository books and articles. The brain is pretty cool! 🧠
3G reflected on the importance of elders in their lives with Mrs. Fishburn during Religious Studies. Students were in touch with their crafty side while making these flowers.
In our IPC Brainwave unit, students are learning about the mysteries of the brain. We practiced making connections in our thinking with a hands-on activity connecting each other with string, forming a network of “neurons” becoming stronger and stronger.
3G visited the Mac Lab for the first time this week. We took the opportunity to explore the new Wonders program online. Our Language Arts curriculum has some great resources and activities available for students from home or at school.
