In our initial Readers & Writers lessons each child was given a book basket and asked to take books from different topics of interest. Each afternoon we start by taking our basket to either the mat or at a table for a free reading period. We have started reading individually to practice and develop our own positive reading behaviours and to also know how to read with a partner.
After our individual reading time we split up into different groups to practice correct letter formation and writing skills; listening to reading on the Ipad; letter puzzles & small group work/change our book basket books.
