During Japanese Culture week we had the pleasure of a visiting children’s book author- Mr Ian Whybrow from the U.K. This opportunity was opened to an audience of Montessori to Grade 3.
Mr. Whybrow presented an array of his popular story book titles to the children and kept them engaged for a full hour as he had them actively pretending to be characters in his stories such as a robot.
The Montessori children enjoyed their turn with Mr. Whybrow. We thank Ms. Schumacher and the library committee for organising this event for our students. Mr. Whybrow shared with the children that being able to hold, smell and turn the pages of a story book is what is valuable to young children. Thank you Mr. Whybrow for nurturing our children’s love of reading with your visit.
