In the months of May & June

Hello Parents,

The last month of school is always the busiest month with so many activities going on for the children.

Just a warning….there are going to be a lot of photos to share because both Mrs Almoula and I are so proud of all the children’s progress this semester and I couldn’t just stop at a few photos. I know you’ll understand! We also welcomed two new classmates bringing our classroom total to 19.

BOYS DAYTANGO NO SEKKU

On May 5th we celebrated Boy’s Day, which is also known as “Children’s Day”. We made a traditional koi carp craft with the “koi carp” symbolising strength because this fish can swim against the current of the stream.

Rolling paper clay is not only fun, it also strengthens small hand muscles.

Once we cut, glued and rolled the base for our Boy’s Day craft, it was time to assemble it piece by piece.

One classmate was very happy to share her Boy’s Day inspired bento box with a koi carp seaweed roll. And you guessed it, she ate her fun lunch all up!

Another classmate showed us his koi carp snack that he found in his lunch box! It made us all smile! During lunch times we follow the health safety rule of not speaking while we have our mask off for eating.

MONTESSORI SPORTS DAY

On May 21st we made history in the Montessori school by holding the first Sports Day in the new Cougar Cafe and Activity Center. These are just a few photos to share of the day. One thing that we promoted on this day was being a “team player.”

BALL TOSS

DANCE TO THE BEAT

We danced away in Activity room 1 & 2 as a class to some of the children’s favourite dances/songs.

RELAYS

Overall, it was a fun sports day for all!

Show & Tell time- Learning how to speak in front of others

Circle Time: Spontaneous opportunity to dance to “Can’t stop the music” from our Spring concert just for fun.

Look how creative we are with our spring and Mother’s day crafts

This is teamwork right here! After lunch the children have some time to work with manipulatives like leggo. They were excited to share what they had made together!

And sometimes you just want to show your teacher that you are so flexible!

And now it is the last day of our academic year! Thankfully we made it face-to face at school, which is always the best scenario. What an interesting year of learning for your children. The progress, independence, empathy and kindness that your children have shown to one another has been the greatest to observe across this semester. Happy Summer holidays!
