Our annual social event for parents, staff and friends was a great success! We had a terrific group of people who really got into the spirit with some amazing costumes and dance moves. YC&AC was a very accommodating venue for our event. Our DJ for the night, who is a grade 10 parent – George Cockle, spun some great tunes taking us back to the 70s (and even threw in a couple of current tunes). Our band, Romero Special with Yasuyo, was fantastic, with great songs and dance moves. The band included a mom and dad – Yasuyo and Koji – from grade 2 and this is the second year they have performed for us. We are very lucky to have such a talented community who willingly support our events! A huge thank you to everyone who participated in organizing this event – we are grateful for your support! And of course… we are already starting to think about next year… perhaps a little Rock & Roll party… 80s theme… Great Gatsby… we will see but be sure not to miss it!

Like every month, the first Thursday in February belonged to the PSG Coffee Morning. This time, PSG invited Alice Harrington, who has been an expat in Japan for more than 50 years. Our jaws dropped listening to Alice talking about her family’s adventures. Looking at the black and white photographs of old Yokohama, it was hard to believe it’s the same city we live in now. Thanks to the Japanese moms, the intriguing talk was accompanied by delicious treats that were nearly too beautiful to eat. Just see for yourself at the photo gallery bellow.
February is nearly here! Our monthly PSG Coffee morning comes very early in the month this time. Please come and join us on Thursday February 1st from 8:30 to 10:00 in the cafeteria. We have invited a long-term expat in Japan, Ms. Alice Harrington to share her very interesting life story with us. It’s worth hearing her talk about the adventures that her family went through 50 years of living in Japan. The presentation will start at 9:15.
We kindly ask Japanese families to bring their treats to share with the community.
Hope to see you all there!
On January 11, 2018, PSG members gathered for a presentation entitled Nutrition for Life, given by Saint Maur parent Shirley Tamura (MPH, RD, DrPH). Shirley shared her experiences as both a trained nutritionist and parent to offer ideas, advice, and suggestions for keeping Saint Maur families healthy, strong–and most of all, well-nourished!
The mothers of Europe (not France) provided a delicious spread of treats.

On December 7, 2017 PSG parents gathered to celebrate the holiday season. PSG members brought delicious treats from around the world to create a truly festive holiday table. A cutthroat yet good-natured round of musical chairs filled out the event as we all wished each other Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and safe travels for the winter break.
Dear Middle School & High School parents:
Through out the school year, Fine Arts department held events like Drama performances, band concerts as well as Christmas and Spring concerts. In these events, PSG help teachers feeding the hungry students during performance like the Drama club and provide concession throughout concerts.
We ask parents donate bake goods, snacks and drinks for the bake sale and lend a helping hand to run the bake sale at each event. Please keep in mind that all these are voluntary. The St Maur community is thankful for your support and your donations are greatly appreciated ! And in particular, the students will benefit from a strong community spirit during the busy time.
As the holiday season approached, so do our annual band and Christmas concerts. Why not join your students and music teacher for a pre-celebration of the holiday season? There will solo performances, Christmas Carol, band music and more !!
All proceeds from the bake sale goes to PSG and consequently used to improved our students’ educational experience here at St Maur.
Here are the links for sign up. Thank you and see you at the concert !
