On November 19, Saint Maur hosted the KPASS speech contest. We welcomed 175 high school and middle school contestants from nine schools and was the first large-scale, face-to-face speech contest since the beginning of the pandemic. The day was packed with amazing speeches, and since there were so many participants, three different categories were always competing at the same time. The day lasted for a whole 10 hours, however, since it was such an enjoyable day, filled with socializing, performing, and listening to speeches, the time flew by fast.
This year, Saint Maur won the speech contest once again! With 13 points ahead of the school that came in second place. Our team received one bronze, six silvers and nine gold awards, and two all-stars. We were finally able to have a full team and our win was definitely thanks to a freshman who competed in two different categories. Recognition must also go to all those who did not perform but organized the speech contest, especially Mr. G!
The trophy is now proudly presented by the entrance of the high school floor, and we plan on keeping it there for a while.
Congratulations to the speech contest team!
