IB Secrets Revealed At Last!

Dear ol’ juniors, how is the IB? Have you started hearing whispers about your IAs? EEs? Have you been forced to miss your early dismissals for a TOK class? Did Mr. Patmore make the joke about the chirping sounds of freedom just outside the window? Has the guidance team scared you into feeling inadequate, as if you have no chances in the future, that you must take your SAT’s as soon as possible? And the TOEFL’s for those who haven’t been deemed English proficient in a school where we must all be English proficient. Then CAS, ah CAS. The first month has just started for the lucky juniors, you need to think about a different activity for every strand, a sport, something voluntary, and then something creative?! How crude!  And it isn’t difficult to remember how overwhelming it was moving from HS-4 to HS-2. Except, I couldn’t possibly remember that since I’ve been in HS-3 since freshman year but I can sympathize. As an older, wiser, been-around-the-block senior, I can give only one solid piece of advice: keep your eye on the prize and sign up for the newspaper club! (It counts as service and creativity, what a score!) Good luck!
