Cross Country’s First Races

On the 10th and 17th of September, the members of the cross country team attended a race with other members of Kanto schools. The high school team runs 5km, whereas the middle school runs 3km. The course often involves hills, rocky terrain, or grass, making the long-distance run that much harder.

“I slipped right at the start line”, one runner said.

For many of the freshmen pictured above, it was their first-ever race. For others, like the seniors pictured below, it’s the last of their long cross-country careers.

The girls, albeit small in number, did great too. Many reached their personal best time, and for the middle schoolers, for whom it was many of their first races, they did exceptionally well.
