On May 6th our class was given the opportunity to visit the newly opened Cougars Cafe, Activity & Sports Center. One classmate from each of the Montessori classrooms was chosen to represent our class along with Ms Mimi at the Official Opening Ceremony.
When you first enter the foyer of the gym you will see a large red painted wall with a wooden cross and flower to the side of it. We were told that the wood of the cross came from the old gym floor that was made from cherry wood. If you look closely you will see the lines of the gym floor. The petals of the flower represents the Infant Jesus Sisters who came from France to establish schools around the world, one of which being Saint Maur International School.
As we went around on our tour as a class we were amazed by the large gym, the bright colours, the equipment in the Activity rooms where we will have our P.E. & Movement classes, and the view of our surrounding neighbourhood from the new cafeteria.
Our first day to use the gym was May 10th which such an exciting first time experience for the children.
Older 5/6 yr olds with Mr Hitchman
Younger 3,4 & early 5yr olds with Ms Hoshi, Ms Momoko, Mrs Almoula & Ms Barbara in the other activity room designed for dance classes
It was such an easy stroll to the gym, but we definitely got a good workout walking up and down the stairs to the lower level-B2. The feedback from the children was that they loved the space to dance around in and the equipment.
