In the first couple of weeks of school we have been building community by getting to know each other better and learning the names of our new classmates. Within a Montessori classroom the older students are encouraged to help the younger students in the classroom, which can be observed daily. Children love to help children. We have five new classmates who have been warmly welcomed into the classroom and are learning the classroom routine.
Here are the children engaging in a variety of activities that they independently choose for themselves during our “work” mornings.
