Hello, again, boys and girls!\u00a0 Today I will be reading a very popular book among young children, the title is, GOODNIGHT MOON.\u00a0 This story was written by Margaret Wise Brown and the pictures were drawn by Clement Hurd.\u00a0 Margaret Wise Brown loved animals, and usually had an animal in each of her stories.\u00a0 After she was finished with a story, she asked the person who would be drawing the illustrations for the story to draw them as if a child had drawn them.\u00a0 She thought that the children would enjoy the stories more if the drawings (we call them ‘illustrations’ in books) were like drawings that they can draw…\u00a0 If you enjoy drawing, maybe you could try to draw your own illustrations to one of your favorite books?\u00a0 You could post a photograph of your drawing of your illustration in the comment section below.<\/p>\n
The reason that I enjoy Margaret Wise Brown’s stories is because she writes in a rhythmical pattern.\u00a0 When you listen to me read, see if you can find a beat in the sound of the words, a bit like the rhythm to a song.\u00a0 Can you can tap your foot on the floor; or your hand on your on your thigh (which is the top part of your leg), to the rhythm of the story?<\/p>\n
