{"id":1081,"date":"2020-12-10T11:45:20","date_gmt":"2020-12-10T02:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/?p=1081"},"modified":"2020-12-09T11:59:53","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T02:59:53","slug":"christmas-crafts-and-dance-ms-mimi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/2020\/12\/10\/christmas-crafts-and-dance-ms-mimi\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas crafts and dance  &#8211;  Ms. Mimi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello boys and girls,<\/p>\n<p>Since this is Advent, preparing for Christmas to come, let&#8217;s get ready by making a &#8220;family wreath&#8221;, and get everyone in your family involved.\u00a0 \u00a0You can make your family wreath to hang up in your living room for this holiday season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/?attachment_id=1134\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1134\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1134\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/files\/2020\/12\/Picture1-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"522\" height=\"641\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/files\/2020\/12\/Picture1-1.png 522w, https:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/files\/2020\/12\/Picture1-1-244x300.png 244w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>A family handprint wreath: with the handprints of everyone in your family and, perhaps, your family pet(s)<\/h2>\n<p>You will need some <strong>green construction paper<\/strong> of different shades, if possible.\u00a0 If you have some green paint, you can even paint the papers green, in different shades by adding a little bit of white. Or, you can color them green with crayons after you trace everyone&#8217;s hands.<\/p>\n<p>Go ask your family to let you trace their hands.\u00a0 If there are four people in your family, you&#8217;d have four pairs or eight handprints. After tracing them,\u00a0 they can start cutting them out. If you want to, you can even do your pet&#8217;s paws!<\/p>\n<p>Make a circle outline using all the handprints that are cut as in the photo.\u00a0 To decorate the wreath, use red dots, sequins,\u00a0 pom-poms, small pine cones, popcorn or anything you might have and stick them with glue onto the wreath.<\/p>\n<p>This family project might take some time, so enjoy the time making your wreath together. You trace each other&#8217;s handprints, cutting them out and arranging the handprints to form a wreath.\u00a0 You can put on the ornaments at the end. If you could take a family photo, you can trim it and put it on the wreath;\u00a0 it will make your wreath extra special.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t forget to write the year <strong><em>2020<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0Threading decorations<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/?attachment_id=1087\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1087\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1087\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/files\/2020\/12\/5-threading-decorations.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"489\" height=\"603\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/files\/2020\/12\/5-threading-decorations.jpg 400w, https:\/\/blogs.stmaur.ac.jp\/mo\/files\/2020\/12\/5-threading-decorations-243x300.jpg 243w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 489px) 100vw, 489px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Materials needed: a thick paper or a piece of cardboard to cut out a circle, and thread or yarn in Christmas colors.<\/p>\n<p>Cut out a simple circle from some scrap cardboard by first tracing the lid of a jar or something circular.\u00a0 Cut some notches around the sides as shown in the picture.
