Last Friday’s ES Spring Concert was a huge success and I am incredibly proud of all my students! Thank you to all the teachers who assisted backstage and to Renata J. for the wonderful photos!

Only 2 weeks left until the ES Spring Concert! The theme for this year’s show is ‘Spring and Growth’ and is based on a poem I wrote “Spring is…” and my adaptation of Dr Seuss’s “The Lorax” specifically for our students. Once again, I am so proud of my students and all the incredible contributions they have made to bring the adaptation to life and take it further. Not only are they bigger and almost ready to move up a grade level, they have also grown a lot musically over the past year and I can’t wait for everyone to see what they have been working so hard on!
We hope you can join us on Friday 10th May, 6pm!

After a few lessons of working on their piece for the ES Spring Concert, 3RB + FS3 were excited to split into different teams today. Students were given the option to join a movement, recorder or xylophones group to work on specific aspects for the performance. It was great to see everyone working together so well and practicing hard!

In my class, every student learns every part and along the way they can discover which they enjoy the most/where they think their strengths are. Today, we split into groups for the first time (students chose their role) to play our arrangement of Simple Simon. So much fun!

Inspired by Sally Go Round the Sun, 3NB composed their own ‘Space’ theme song today and improvised in La mode.

On Monday and Tuesday, students and teachers were treated to a fun 2 days of workshops and singalongs with visiting musician Kathryn Claire. Thank you Mrs Harrington for organizing this wonderful experience for us all!

Grade 3 are making excellent progress in recorder study! This is my 4th year teaching recorder and so far, they’re definitely the group with the most enthusiasm for this instrument which is very exciting!
