Grade 4 Instrument Assignment

Grade 4 have been waiting for this moment and today it finally came! Lots of excitement and buzz as students were told what instruments they will be playing in Grade 5 band next year. Can’t believe it has already been a year since Grade 5 was in this position. It was great seeing them be mentors for their younger peers.

2019 Elementary Spring Concert

Last Friday’s ES Spring Concert was a huge success and I am incredibly proud of all my students! Thank you to all the teachers who assisted backstage and to Renata J. for the wonderful photos!

Spring and Growth

Only 2 weeks left until the ES Spring Concert! The theme for this year’s show is ‘Spring and Growth’ and is based on a poem I wrote “Spring is…” and my adaptation of Dr Seuss’s “The Lorax” specifically for our students. Once again, I am so proud of my students and all the incredible contributions they have made to bring the adaptation to life and take it further. Not only are they bigger and almost ready to move up a grade level, they have also grown a lot musically over the past year and I can’t wait for everyone to see what they have been working so hard on!

We hope you can join us on Friday 10th May, 6pm!

Getting Ready for Band

Next month, Grade 4 students will be fitted for an instrument which they will play in band and maybe (hopefully) the rest of their lives! It’s a big decision so we have been revising lots about the instruments so students can be as prepared as possible when giving their preference.

Grade 3 Groupwork

After a few lessons of working on their piece for the ES Spring Concert, 3RB + FS3 were excited to split into different teams today. Students were given the option to join a movement, recorder or xylophones group to work on specific aspects for the performance. It was great to see everyone working together so well and practicing hard!
