Hello, my name is JoAnna Takeda! I am originally from the place of the great outdoors, Vancouver, Canada. A little summary, I was a lifeguard, swimming and fitness instructor as I attended the University of British Columbia to receive a Bachelors in Contemporary Cultural Anthropology. I volunteered my summers in East Africa with music projects and found a love for education through various people who inspired me along the way, including the best one, my mom. I returned to Vancouver to study a major in Education and minor in International Education.
I received my first teaching job at an International School in Amsterdam, and lived in a town called Utrecht which still holds a big part of my heart.
I am so thrilled to be living in Shonan now, close to family and friends. I am thankful to be able to do all the things I love, teach a 5th Grade homeroom, coach high school volleyball, lead the high school TASSEL club (in short, sharing Education in Cambodia) and grow in maths leadership in the Elementary school.
But what is life without a fair bit of balance? Without fail, this is where you will find when I am not in the classroom.
Thanks for checking in!
