*Reminder: Children must bring back their book on Monday as we will share them with Montessori.
This week we kept practicing our lines for the play! We are getting a lot better and almost all of them know their lines and when to say them. If you could just remind them you are watching and too remember to look at the audience. (We have talked about how we have heard it already many times and don’t need to watch our friends while on stage, and to keep our eyes forward.)
WE DID IT!!!!!! We finished our first stories!!!!!! They are awesome and I/everyone is so proud of them!!! Revising and publishing for the first time was quite a task, but we got it now and so proud to see all of our hard work put together, and to see how many awesome techniques they used from other authors. They will bring it home to read with you tonight.
We have been talking about combinations and how there are different ways to make 8 (1 and 7, 2 and 6, 3 and 5, etc.) If you could just discuss language such as what other combinations could we have that would be awesome!
Hopefully you all get to rest up well this weekend after all the coughs and chills!!
Please feel free to send your child in a mask if they are not feeling well.
We are working on learning about our brain and how we can make our brain stronger. We have been practicing writing a sentence each day with our left and right hands, this way we can learn about how practice can help us build up new skills.
They have been LOVING shapes, doing lots of analyse on triangles and now quadrilaterals. If you want to ask them to find shapes at home they may enjoy that!
We are just about done editing our final draft of our small moments stories. It has been an amazing process and so great to see all the students stories growing. As well as them working together to help each other make their stories even better!
Due to the absences this week we will keep the same word work words as last week.
This would be a great chance to look back through each week and practice a few from each vowel group and mix them up a little as well.
We will be collecting paper towel rolls, tubes, milk cartons, etc; anything that would work for a marble run such as in these images. http://tinyurl.com/zqstqm6
Thank you so much for those who came and supported on Sports Day. The kids all had a lot of fun (even though there were a few tears). We are learning all about competition, and although we try to win, sometimes we lose, especially when we are competing against 40 of our peers! Overall I was very proud of all of them and they worked so hard on their very first sports day!!
Christmas Bazaar is coming up really soon and a reminder that we are collecting items for our basket. The theme is healthy snacks and movies. We have a basket set up outside our room for all the items, you can either send them up with your child or drop them off another time.
We will also started our new IPC unit this week on the brain. We will work on setting new goals that may be hard to reach, but with practice and perseverance they can accomplish!
Again, Please make sure to have your child practice their word work words 3x per week.
